The Bish Issue 7
Bishop’s Stortford & beyond.

We are The Bish magazine

We are designers, writers and printers—from Stortford-based agency Douglas—aiming to bring you a magazine-less-ordinary. Full of all the good things to be found in our eclectic and beautiful town and beyond. From fashion, food and lifestyle, to wellness and property, we’ll be sharing our best finds and hidden gems with you and invite you to do the same. We’re always on the lookout for new enterprises on the up and up, and existing institutions we can champion, to help the town we know and love continue to flourish. Especially now. If we’ve learnt one thing over the course of the pandemic, it’s that we have everything we could possibly need on our doorstep, being served by a community who care and who pulled together when needed. From keeping us in fresh produce, to little luxuries that kept us buoyed when life got a bit insular, we’ve realised now, more than ever, what a special place Bishop’s Stortford is.

Be part of the story
We want to build The Bish community. As we emerge, bleary-eyed, from the last two years, we’re keen to celebrate everything incredible about our town and its people, because there is a lot to celebrate. From food to blow the mind of the most discerning diner, to cafes to cosy up with friends and discuss that sleepless night with the baby, with every necessity in between, from South Street to North Street, via Market Place and beyond. Buzzy town centre, check. Wide open spaces, check. Everything for the nature lover to the culture vulture, check. It’s not hard to see why Stortford’s popularity is on the up — both as a place to live and to visit. If you want to let us know about your favourite places, gems that we REALLY MUST VISIT, we’d love to hear from you. And if it’s off the beaten track, even better — we’re all for a bit of the road less travelled.
